Chef Cookbook creation:

When new operating systems come our such as Amazon Linux 2023, be able to write a Chef Recipe to automate the installation and configuration of this new OS and certify it to run as part of our overall Infrastructure Automation pipelines

We leverage Chef to handle application server, web server and database server configurations so it’s important to be able to support these workload types

Maintain existing Chef Recipes

For all existing Chef recipes the team should maintain them in a working state. Update them as necessary to keep up with latest software releases and patches. Monitor ticketing queue for Chef related trouble tickets that come in and remediate the issues

If the Chef dashboard is reporting any issues, the team should create a trouble ticket for it and remediate it on their own

Maintain Chef Automate software running on Paramount Cloud infrastructure

We installed Chef on AWS EC2 and we maintain that software and upgrades to it. The team should be able to maintain this and upgrade when necessary

There is also DR configured for Chef and the team should be able to initiate

DR and support our configuration

Chef interacts heavily with our Terraform code so it would be an added bonus if the resources assigned know both Chef and Terraform
